Our Lady of Wayside Home Page

Our Lady of the Wayside offers education for all ages under the direction of the Education Commission and three Boards.

The Religious Education Board supports youth religious education in our parish, promotes, evaluates, and assists with policy making for the parish religious education program. It encompasses religious education from Baptism through teen years. Included is the Middle School Confirmation program.

The School Board assists the Pastor and Principal with providing quality education for the students in the parish school which includes meeting the needs of each student to reach his/her potential spiritually, intellectually, physically and socially. The Board, together with the Pastor and Principal develops policies relating to budget, educational activities and the general operation of Our Lady of the Wayside School.

The Adult Enrichment Committee offers both multi-session classes and periodic opportunities to help adults grow in their faith and apply it in their daily lives. Past offerings have included the Catholicism series, a Funeral tutorial and a Biblical Walk through the Mass. Watch the Bulletin for details on current classes.

Also, check out the various Bible studies.

To help you grow in your faith we have two libraries. After Mass, stop by and browse on your way to/from coffee, donuts and fellowship in the Gathering Space!

  • Books and CDs are available from a kiosk located in the vestibule between the church and Gathering Space. Suggested donations are $4 for books, $3 for CDs, $2 for booklets and 50 cents for pamplets.

  • The bookcases in the Gathering Space are filled with over 1500 books and resources, from Bible Study to Prayer and Meditation. Look for authors such as Henri Nouwen or Joyce Rupp. Perhaps you don’t have time to participate in one of the Adult Enrichment workshops, but you would like a structured aid for Bible Study. There are many Bible Study resources in the parish library. There are books by Mother Teresa, Pope John Paul II, and Cardinal Bernardin. Click here for an index of the books on the shelves.

They are available to be checked out after Mass on Saturdays and Sundays. Just complete the card that is in the book pocket with your name and date, and place it in the blue catalogue that is on the shelf. When you are finished with the book, just return it to the “Return Book” basket. Very simple and easy. So, check it out!
