What is faith? To many it is those truths we profess when we recite the Creed at Mass. The Creed is a public statement of what we believe. Those articles are the faith. Faith also has a personal meaning. Faith is not only our understanding of Theology and truths intellectually. It is our personal acceptance of a personal belief and trust in God. Our Creed states in the first sentence, "I believe inů" not, "I believe thatů" The One we believe in and trust is God. The greatest model of faith is our patroness, Mary, Our Lady of the Wayside. Her faith was not a blind faith because she questions the words the angel spoke to her, asking "How can this be..?" Mary believed in God and trusted in God. She believed in His love for her and that the promises made to her would be fulfilled. She gave herself wholly over to God seeking only His will and wisdom for her and for our salvation. "May it be done to me according to your word?"
