ADULT ENRICHMENT AT OLW

FOLLOW ME:
Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John

A Saturday Morning Opportunity for Fellowship in our Faith Community and with Our Lord, Jesus
Christ

Being Catholic takes more than simply believing in God or doing what He asks of us. Jesus wants you to be more than a believer; he wants you to be his disciple and friend. To help you answer this call to deeper friendship with Christ, OLW will begin Follow Me: Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John on Saturday, January 14th at 9:00 a.m.

Registration for the 8 session program will begin the week of December 18th and the course fee is $20.00. Participants will receive a workbook and will view an engaging 30 minute video presented by Dr. Edward Siri. Dr. Siri will explain how Christ's encounters with others in the Gospel are examples of the Lord's call to each of us for a more intimate relationship with him. Consider this opportunity to experience a renewed friendship with our Lord, who so dearly loves each of us. Look for more information and registration in the bulletin and online next week.

CANDLE LIGHTING

Second Sunday of Advent Masses began last weekend with the lighting of the Advent Candle. In this photo, at 8:15 a.m. Mass, celebrated by Father Louis Golamari (at left), the candle was lit by the Strzyzynski Family.  The Strzyzynski Family also delivered the gifts at the Offertory of the Mass.

OLW WIDOWS BRAVE SNOW, COLD
To Celebrate Christmas Early

The weather was perfect for Santa and his reindeerand it didn't stop a dozen or so Our Lady of the Wayside ladies from getting together for an early Christmas gathering.

WOW, the "Widows of Wayside" held their annual Christmas Dinner last Sunday (December 4) at Sam's of Arlington Restaurant.

The first snow of the winter may have curtailed the attendance a bit but the ladies who attended enjoyed the company and the good food. Some who may have arrived early also may have enjoyed the conclusion of the Chicago Bears football game on one of Sam's televisions.
