Twenty-fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time

FAREWELL FATHER CHUKWUEMEKA ANTH0NY ATANSI

Joyful greetings from Leuven, Belgium!

I am writing to let you know that I had a very smooth journey and did arrive safely back to my college
in Leuven. I am settling down well and getting ready for the new academic year that will start on
Monday, 24 September, 2018.

I thank you all, your wonderful Pastor, Father Ed, and Father Dan, sincerely from my heart for the great gift and grace you were and have now become to me in my priestly life and ministry.

My long time and stay in your parish confirmed to me that America is a nation that bears a "motherly" character in so many ways. In her, one feels in touch with the whole world, given the diversity of people that are
nutured and sustained in her.

I felt this personally and so deeply in the largehearted and generous welcome of Father Ed, who was so kind to offer me a very comfortable stay in the rectory and provided for all my needs. No less my spiritual need by granting that I celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass with and for you all. I was deeply nourished by your fatih and devout presence even in those moments of tremendous challenge in the life of the Church. You
remained steadfast and together with you all we opened our hearts and entrusted our lives more intently to Christ, who remains our
all and hope as we journey in life.

I remain eternally grateful to you, my dear friends in Christ. And I assure you all of my loving thoughts and fervent prayers. May I humbly request you to please remember me in your prayers, especially that I may remain faithful to the Lord and to His choice of me in my calling. I hope to keep in touch. I am glad to share with you my relatively permanent contact details:

Sincerely yours in Christ,
Father Anthony

LOCAL KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS RAISE FUNDS FOR OLW SPRED MINISTRY

OLW Parishioners had a chance to support one of the most active Catholic service entities when the local Knights of Columbus solicited contributions (and handed out Tootsie Rolls in exchange) outside the church before and after all weekend Masses September 15 and 16.

(Note: The Knights were not collecting inside OLW Church on Sunday; this photo shows one of the Knights re-entering the Church after the 9:30 a.m. Mass.)
