RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAM DESPERATELY NEEDS CATECHISTS FOR NEXT YEAR

Grade 3 1 Assistant Catechist (Classes every Tuesday from 4:00-5:15)

Grade 4 1 Catechist (Classes every Tuesday from 4:00-5:15)

Classes will be starting soon for the R.E.P. program. Please consider stepping forward to share your faith with the children. The in-depth texts provide a wealth of resources as well as Sister Joan and Sister Adrienne provide training and mentoring throughout the year. Volunteers are asked to contact Sister Joan at 847-398-5011 or email repsecretary@olwparish.org.

Parents who have not registered their children, especially for grades 1 and 6 are asked to print the forms from the website, www.olwparish.org, and complete them as soon as possible. Fill out the forms, and return them to the Parish Center with a check payable to OLW for the registration amount. Parents who will have children for the first time in the Religious Education Program are required to turn in a copy of your child's/children's Baptismal Certificate along with the Registration and Volunteer forms.

CONFIRMATION REQUIREMENTS
Grade 6 is a pre-requisite for entering the Confirmation preparation program. Preparation for Confirmation takes place in grades 7 and 8. Students entering Grade 7 must have had formal religious instruction in Grade 6, otherwise they will be placed in Grade 6 instead of Grade 7. During the two-year preparation program for the Sacrament of Confirmation, students are to attend classes regularly with as little absence as possible if they wish to be confirmed in Grade 8.
