CATHOLIC CHARITIES
National HIV/AIDS Awareness Month

July is National HIV/AIDS Awarenss Month. The goal of this month is to create dialogue about and raise public awareness of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. These efforts aim to end HIV stigma and discrimation engaging people in the fight against the disease and ultimately ending the pandemic. In the past 30 years of the pandemic, people have viewed HIV/AIDS as a problem solely affecting underdeveloped countries. Contrarily, the disease affects countries across the world - including the United States. This Awareness Month intends to challenge people around the globe to discuss the issues, promote education, testing and prevention, and also foster a compassionate response to all persons living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. For more information call (312) 948-6500.
