NATIONAL TEACHER APPRECIATION
Is This Coming Week, May 1 - May 5

Let's celebrate all teachers that we know - the OLW School Teachers, the R.E.P. teachers, teachers you had many years ago, teachers that live in your neighborhood. They work hard to educate our children in a variety of subjects and on a variety of levels. They deserve our respect and gratitude. If you have students of any age, remind them to be kind and respectful to their teachers always, but especially on May 2, National Teacher Appreciation Day.

CONNECTING
Our Mind, Body, And Spirit

Looking for a way to relax and reduce your stress level a bit?  Looking for some quiet prayer time?  Why not
combine the two? Join us once a month for an evening of yoga, prayer, guided meditation, and peaceful music. We will use yoga postures, movement, and breathing to relax our bodies and minds in preparation for prayer and Scripture-based meditations. The next session is on
May 3rd from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Gathering Place. All
ability levels are welcome, as the postures and movements can be adapted to what each individual is able to do.
Please bring either a yoga mat or a beach towel.

If you have any questions, contact Mandy Dillon in the parish office: 847-253-5353 or pastoralassociate @olwparish.org. Don't want to miss seeing the
announcement in the bulletin? Send Mandy an email to sign up to receive an email reminder about these sessions.

MAY ROSARY TO HONOR MARY

During the month of May we will be saying a decade of the rosary before every weekend Mass. Due to the May crowning we will be doing at each Mass the first weekend of May, we will begin the rosary decades the weekend of May 13th and 14th. This devotion dedicated to our patroness Mary is a wonderful way to remember and reinforce our connection to our Blessed Mother in this month devoted to her honor. Each weekend will focus on a different set of the mysteries of the rosary - the Joyful Mysteries, the Sorrowful Mysteries, the Glorious Mysteries, and the Luminous Mysteries. The person leading the decade for each Mass will introduce the mystery, read a few lines of a meditation on the mystery, and then lead the congregation in an Our Father, ten Hail Marys, a Glory Be, and the "O my Jesus…" prayer: "O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fire of hell, and lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy." If you are interested in leading a decade of the rosary at one of our weekend Masses in May, please contact Mandy Dillon at pastoralassociate @olwparish.org.
