Thanks to all who participated in our Giving Tree this year. Because of your generosity, we have helped make Christimas a little brighter for 80 families. The families who needed our help, were able to celebrate a blessed Christmas with traditional holiday food and gifts generously supplied by you. Children, teens and even adults were able to have a special meal and some gifts that they may not have had, if not for you.

This year, because of your kindness and generosity, once again we were able to give over $50,000 to our friends at St. Mark.

Dear Fialkowski & Parishioners of OLW,

Peace and New Year blessings!

On behalf of all of the retired  religious of the Archdiocese and of the United States, I would like to thank you and the members of Our Lady of the Wayside Parish for your very generous donation of $10,610.25 towards the Retirement Fund for Religious. Please be assured of the prayers of all religious, both retired and active, asking God's continued blessings upon your parish throughout the 2017 New Year.

CONNECTING OUR MIND BODY, AND SPIRIT
Looking for a way to relax and reduce your stress level a bit? Looking for some quiet prayer time? Why not combine the two? Join us once a month for an evening of yoga, prayer, guided meditation, and peaceful music. We will use yoga postures, movement and breathing to relax our bodies and minds in preparation for prayer and Scripture-based meditations. The next session is on February 1 from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Gathering Place. All ability levels are welcome, as the postures and movements can be adapted to what each individual is able to do. Please bring either a yoga mat or beach towel.

If you have any questions, contact Mandy Dillon in the parish office: 847-253-5353 or
Pastoralassociate @olwparish.org. Don't want to miss seeing the announcement in the bulletin? Send Mandy an email to sign up to receive an email reminder about these sessions.

What does your relationship with Christ look like? Do you see Jesus as simply a great teacher? A prophet? A man of great wisdom? Or do you see him as more? Jesus calls us to be more than simply believers - he calls us to be his disciples and his friends. Do you consider yourself a disciple and friend of Christ? The Gospel of John shows us that God became like us; he became a man so that we could be become like him and grow closer to him. Follow Me: Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John is your guide to a personal encounter with Christ.

Follow Me invites you to experience the joy of a renewed friendship with Christ. You will learn what it takes to follow him. You will experience the joy of divine friendship, and you will see how God - and only God - can satisfly the deepest desires of your heart.

Participants of Follow Me will receive a workbook and will meet weekly to view an engaging video presentation followed by a time of lively group discussion and fellowship. The eight 30-minute videos, presented by Dr. Edward Sri, will guide you through the Gospel of John. Dr. Sri will explain how Christ's encounters with his disciples, the Samaritan woman, the man born blind, and others, are examples of how he lovingly and persistently calls each of us to a more intimate and life changing relationship with him.
