Workers began the renovation on January 2. They spent the first week preparing and removing pews, kneelers and other "removable" items (Stations of the Cross, etc.) in Our Lady of the Wayside Church in advance of the asbestos removal project, which began on Tuesday, January 9.
These photos show some of the work and transition, as well as Sunday Masses which have been moved to the Father Mackin Center, and Daily Masses, which have been moved to the Gathering Place.
The "demolition" phase ends as January ended with a moisture test being completed. In February, interior painting is in progress.
